The VS1 incorporates a capacitance sensor of a type normally only found in high-end instruments, and which out-performs the moving-coil detectors used in most low cost designs. Our sensor is totally digital, meaning that the drift encountered in analogue components is completely eliminated. All the electronics are integral and include a microprocessor that controls a feedback force acting on the beam, continually compensating for drift due to changes in air pressure or temperature. For protection in transit the VS1 even incorporates a locking system to safeguard the beam and sensor against possible shocks
