Over the years I have been using Dragon NaturallySpeaking speech recognition software.
I have used many different types of noise cancellation headsets one I am testing out at the moment is called VXI Blue parrot B250-XT plus .
The build quality is amazing. It is very rugged and as really good quality buttons for sound volume, also a large button which allows you to switch on and off the device when you press the button for approximately five seconds.
The larger button flashes red and blue indicating that the device is pairing to your device.
The microphone has an adjustable boom, so it's easy to adjust it to the corner of your mouth for obtaining optimum speech recognition results.
Battery lasts for approximately 20 hours talk time before needing to be recharged. This is incredible for a battery to last this long you can charge the device using a standard USB charging port or purchased the charging adapter which plugs into a standard electrical socket.
The headset is very comfortable to wear. Excellent noise cancellation, and it's very easy to slip into your laptop bag.
Most people find that they need to use Dragon NaturallySpeaking in a quiet environment to get optimum results.
This is where the the blue parrot B250-XT plus comes into its own as the noise cancellation works really well, removing the background noise.
I have got the television on in a loud setting in the background as I am speaking. The microphone is doing a really good job of not picking up any of the background noise.
For optimum results I always go to the audio setting on the Dragon NaturallySpeaking toolbar, then click check microphone
this brings up a small window with a small block of text to read it only takes a couple of minutes. This is essential to optimise your microphone with the background noise.
What is happening is Dragon NaturallySpeaking software is optimising your microphone as you speak it is adjusting the gain volume of the recording for optimum results.
This headset works with many types of Bluetooth devices, on my laptop I am using the dedicated Bluetooth adapter. I find by using the adapter, the recognition is a lot higher than not using it.
The adapter is called VXI BT2 Bluetooth USB adapter
overall, this headset does get very high performance within a noisy background using Dragon NaturallySpeaking professional.
This microphone is a good all-rounder very comfortable to wear and the build quality is very high.
